Readiness Matters

Why Readiness Matters More Than You Think

A fascinating study came out this week that got me thinking about something I see all the time in my coaching practice.

Researchers from the University of Oxford found that people who stop taking GLP-1 medications tend to regain weight faster than those who achieved weight loss through lifestyle changes alone—about 0.7 pounds per month faster. But here's what struck me most: the lead researcher said, "This isn't a failing of the medicines—it reflects the nature of obesity as a chronic, relapsing condition."

This really reinforces what I've always believed:
The tool you use matters far less than your readiness to use it well.

Whether you're considering GLP-1 medications, trying a new eating approach, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, success isn't just about the method—it's about preparation. Are you mentally ready? Do you have the support systems in place? Have you identified what's really driving your behaviors?

These aren't just nice-to-have considerations. They're the difference between lasting transformation and the frustrating cycle of starting over.

If you're exploring your options GLP-1s —I've created a free Wellness Readiness Assessment to help you get clear on where you actually are. It takes about 5 minutes and gives you personalized insights about your readiness across the areas that matter most: mindset, support, practical preparation, and behavioral patterns.

Because here's the truth: readiness isn't about being perfect. It's about being honest with yourself so you can set yourself up for real, sustainable success.
